Originally developed through genetic selection at the University of Minnesota, the Honeycrisp apple is one of the most sought-after eating apples today. This apple was bred for taste and it definitely delivers. For reliable production, it’s best to have another apple for a pollinizer. Plant near Gala, Granny Smith or Red Delicious apple trees for the best fruit production. Beautiful blossoms appear in the spring with foliage and fruit growth starting immediately after, look for fruit ripening by late summer.  

Honeycrisp apples are easy to grow with minimal effort required. They thrive in full sun exposure (in desert areas, afternoon shade is preferred) and once established, require only moderate watering for a fruit tree. Apple trees provide more than just nourishment. Honeycrisp apple trees grow to a nice medium size so they’re suitable for nearly all yards.
