Redbud trees are beautiful, and this Oklahoma Redbud is one of the first trees to flower in early spring! When it does, the large clusters and profuse bloom of petite purple-red flowers brighten any size yard! A native Texan, the botanical name is Cercis reniformis 'Oklahoma,' and they have a very compact form, so they are an excellent choice for tight places or smaller yards. We also like to use them to accent gardens or as an ornamental tree where you cannot help but take notice of the beautiful flowers and glossy green leaves! These flowers can last well into the winter, providing seasonal interest to any landscape in Houston.

The Oklahoma Redbud likes to grow in a spot with full sun or partial shade, and once established, is drought tolerant with little to moderate water requirements. This Redbud tree can grow in a broad range of soils, climates, and they have a fast growth rate. As a bonus, these trees are very resistant to a storm, ice, and wind damage!
