The Bearss Lime Tree, also known as the Persian Lime or Tahiti Lime (Citrus × latifolia), is a vigorous, evergreen citrus tree prized for its juicy, seedless fruit and reliable production. It produces medium to large, oval limes with a smooth, thin green rind that turns pale yellow when fully ripe. The fruit is known for its tart, refreshing flavor—perfect for cooking, cocktails, and garnishes. In addition to its flavorful limes, the tree features glossy green leaves and fragrant white blossoms that add ornamental value and attract pollinators.

Thriving in warm climates, the Bearss Lime Tree grows best in USDA Zones 9 through 11 and prefers full sun and well-drained soil. It can be grown in the ground or in large containers in cooler areas, where it should be brought indoors during cold weather. This variety is nearly thornless, relatively low-maintenance, and produces fruit nearly year-round in optimal conditions. With its compact size, delicious fruit, and attractive appearance, the Bearss Lime Tree is an excellent choice for edible landscapes, patios, or home orchards.

"We purchased our Bearss lime tree from Moon Valley only a couple of months ago and planted it ourselves. It was small enough to fit in our SUV (about 3-4' tall). Since then, we have fertilized and watered and now, 2 months later, it has about 60 tiny limes on it and every day we see new blossoms. The little thing will probably fall to the ground supporting so many limes!"
