The Texas Olive (Cordia boissieri) is an excellent small tree or screening plant for many landscapes. They will grow to 25 to 30 feet tall by 25 feet wide. The deep green leaves are large, leathery and coarse in texture. White flowers with yellow throats cluster from spring through fall. The small edible fruit resembles an olive. Plant the Texas Olive in full sun and reflected heat locations. The Cordia boissieri prefers well-drained soil and deep, infrequent watering. This plant should be utilized more often for its attractive shape and bright white flowers.
"I have mine planted in a large pot near my deck and its been doing great for 4 years now. Very nice shape and look. And the flowers add a nice aesthetic to my outdoor space. "
